RENTER PROTECTIONS
"I RECEIVED AN EVICTION NOTICE. WHAT SHOULD I DO?"
3-Day Notice: If you receive a 3-day notice, reach out to the Los Angeles Housing Department. In order for the eviction process to be initiated, you need to receive an unlawful detainer (UD) notice.
Unlawful Detainer Notice: If you receive a UD, you must file an answer within five days. A late response can result in losing your case.
Other Types of Notices: Refer to LAHD resources. RSO renters can file an RSO complaint in order to get an investigator to review the case and create a paper trail for the City.
